Privacy Policy
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to Parcse's website at parcse.com and to Looq, a macOS application provided by Parcse ("Parcse", "we", "us", or "our"). It explains how information is handled when you visit our website or use Looq.
Controller and Contact
Parcse is responsible for the information practices described in this policy. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, contact hello@parcse.com.
Information You Provide
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and any other information you choose to include in your message. We use that information only to respond to you, manage the correspondence, and maintain related business records.
Website Data
When you visit our website, our hosting infrastructure and any third-party resources requested by your browser may receive standard technical data such as your IP address, user agent, referrer, and request time. We do not operate user accounts, advertising technology, or first-party analytics on our website.
- Our pages may request third-party resources such as Google Fonts and Apple's marketing assets.
- Those providers may receive technical request data needed to serve those resources to your browser.
- External links you choose to open are governed by the privacy practices of the relevant third party.
Looq Data Collection
Looq does not require an account and does not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, crash telemetry, or usage data. Parcse does not receive your files or the contents you preview in Looq.
Looq On-Device Processing
Looq processes files locally on your Mac. Files are read only when macOS requests a Quick Look preview, and they are not uploaded to Parcse servers.
Looq Network Access
Looq works offline except when a Markdown file references a remote image (for example, ). In that case, Looq may request the image directly from the third-party host so it can be rendered in the preview.
- The request goes directly to the third-party host. It does not pass through Parcse servers.
- The third-party host may receive standard request metadata such as your IP address, user agent, and the time of the request.
- Fetched images may be cached locally on your device for faster subsequent previews, and the cache can be cleared in Looq preferences.
Retention and Deletion
Parcse does not maintain user accounts, uploaded files, or server-side Looq content. As a result, Parcse generally has no server-side Looq user data to access, correct, or delete. If you email us, we may retain the correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, follow up on the matter, and maintain related business records. For Looq, the optional cache of remote images exists only on your device and can be cleared in Looq preferences. Website-level technical logs, if any, are retained only as needed by our hosting providers for delivery, security, and abuse prevention under their own operational practices.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy law to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To make a privacy request, contact hello@parcse.com.
Legal Bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, Parcse generally relies on your consent when you choose to contact us, and on our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and administering our website and business.
Third-Party Services
Looq does not embed third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or data collection frameworks. If you choose to preview content that references a third-party resource, or if our website requests a third-party asset to render the page, your interaction with that resource is governed by the relevant third party's own terms and privacy practices.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy at this URL and revise the effective date below.
